What We Cover
One grape, covered properly.
Pinotage is a cross of Pinot Noir and Cinsaut created in South Africa in 1925. It is grown in many countries, but it is still hard to find and often misunderstood in the United States. Pinotage.com exists to make it easier to understand and easier to buy.
The site has three parts. The guides explain the grape: its history, taste, regions, serving, and food pairing. The producer pages profile the wineries behind well-known bottles. And the US retailer directory, along with the news and awards pages, tracks where Pinotage can be bought and what is happening in the category.
How We Work
How the information is gathered.
Producer and bottle information comes from the producers’ own websites and technical sheets, wine-industry associations, and competition results. When we summarize a wine, we link to the source so you can check it.
The retailer directory is refreshed regularly. Each listing is based on the retailer’s own website: a store is listed when its site shows a Pinotage product or search result, and prices appear only when a current bottle listing has been seen. Stock changes quickly, so the directory shows the date of its last refresh, and the retailer’s own page is always the final word.

- We do not invent scores, awards, prices, or stock.
- Advertising and referral links are disclosed on the disclosures page and never decide what we cover.

Suggest a winery or bottle, list a US retailer that sells Pinotage, send a news tip, or point out something we got wrong. For a retailer listing, include the store name, address and a link to its Pinotage listing; for a correction, the page and where the correct information is published.
How we confirm your email address
Before your message reaches us, we check that the email address is yours. When you press Send, we email a confirmation link to the address you entered. Open that link within 24 hours and press Confirm and send. No message is sent until your email address is confirmed.
The confirmation email contains only the link, none of what you wrote, so nobody can use this form to send messages in someone else’s name.
